Low-cost airline AirAsia has ordered 150 Airbus aircraft worth \$19 billion

OREANDA-NEWS The largest Malaysian low-cost airline, AirAsia, has signed an agreement with the European aerospace company Airbus to purchase 150 A220-300 narrow-body aircraft, with a total catalog value of approximately \$19 billion.
According to Airbus, this is the largest order for this model of aircraft. The number of orders for these aircraft now exceeds 1,000. They can accommodate up to 160 passengers and can fly up to 6,700 kilometers.
The contract was signed at the Airbus site in Mirabel, Quebec, in the presence of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Since the beginning of 2026, Airbus's capitalization has decreased by 8.2% to 144.4 billion euros.
