OREANDA-NEWS The construction of the Gazprom Center in Minsk should be completed by 2027, this deadline was approved by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Chairman of the Construction and Investment Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Irina Gontareva told the Minsk-News agency.

"The Head of State has approved a new deadline for the completion of the facility, all work is going to be completed by 2027," she said. - The facility has been mothballed for a long period of time. Work was underway with the Russian side on the completion of its construction. As a result, a positive decision was made. In August, Gazprom started the deconservation of the high-rise building. It has already been completed."

"An architectural project has been developed, and construction work has already begun directly. In parallel, the project documentation is being adjusted for the other remaining buildings. That is, now the forces are concentrated on the construction of a high-rise. An additional agreement to the investment agreement has also been concluded," she added.

Earlier it was reported that Lukashenka by his decree exempted Gazprom Transgaz Belarus from paying penalties for non-compliance with the construction deadlines of Gazprom Center.

In 2015, construction of the Gazprom Center began on the site of the demolished Moskovsky bus station in Minsk, which was planned as the tallest building in the Belarusian capital (189 m high). The construction, worth about $1 billion, was supposed to be completed in 2018, but in December 2016 it was frozen. In 2018, a new general contractor, the Italian company Codest International, took up the project. In 2020, work at the facility resumed, but soon stopped again.
