OREANDA-NEWS German Chancellor Friedrich Merz presented an unusual gift to US President Donald Trump at the G7 summit (the Group of Seven). The New York Post (NYP) writes about this.

Before the meeting, Merz presented Trump with a white German national team T-shirt with his name and serial number 47 printed on the back. The American leader, in turn, boasted about the chancellor's gift to other politicians, folded it, and placed it on the table.

According to journalists, Merz presented Trump with a T-shirt in honor of his 80th birthday, which he celebrated on June 14.

The G7 summit, chaired by France, will be held on June 15-17 in the city of Evian-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva. Before the meeting of the leaders of the G7 countries in Geneva, Switzerland, luxury boutiques and banks were boarded up with plywood in case of unrest.
