Moldova has revealed the timing of its withdrawal from the CIS

OREANDA-NEWS Moldova will finally leave the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on April 8, 2027. This statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Mihai Popsoi, Sputnik Moldova reports on Telegram.
"On April 8, a notification was sent to the [CIS] secretariat in Minsk," the Moldovan foreign minister said.
Popshoy commented on the sending of the official notification of withdrawal from the CIS after the publication of the relevant decisions and confirmed its receipt by the organization's secretariat. According to the CIS charter documents, Chisinau will leave the organization within a year.
Earlier, Popshoy questioned the need for Moldova to pay a multimillion-dollar debt to the CIS. The diplomat justified the position by the alleged lack of benefits from Chisinau's membership in the organization.
