OREANDA-NEWS  Moldova imported gas worth about half a billion dollars during the heating season, remaining the "most unhappy" European country. Vyacheslav Ionitse, an economic expert of the IDIS Viitorul association, stated this in a video message that he published on his Facebook page (a social network banned in the Russian Federation; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned).

According to him, during the heating season Moldova consumed half as much gas as last year. He noted that this time the country has purchased gas in the amount of about 500 million dollars. The economist stressed that the gas tariff was higher than the European average. "Of all the European countries, Moldovans have been the most unhappy this winter," he said.

Ionice added that he had studied the situation in the energy market of Europe and Moldova. He noted that in the first quarter of this year, the country bought gas at an average price of $ 1,096, when the European one was estimated at $700 per 1 cubic meter.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Moldova, Viktor Parlikov, said that currently the cost of gas supplied from Russia to the republic has almost equaled the price at which the country buys fuel in Europe. In this regard, the Moldovan government wanted to change the terms of supplies from Gazprom.
