OREANDA-NEWS A military conflict between NATO and Russia may begin in the next three to five years. This forecast was made by Danish Defense Minister Troels Lunn Poulsen, as quoted by Reuters.

"It cannot be ruled out that within three to five years Russia will check the fifth article of NATO and the alliance's solidarity," the military said, adding that the Kremlin "has a desire to do this."

According to Troels, Denmark is unlikely to be directly attacked, but it may face the threat of hybrid attacks from Russia.

In January, it became known that Germany was developing a plan for a war between NATO and Russia, which, according to the scenario of the German Ministry of Defense, could begin in the summer of 2025. The Suwalki corridor between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region was named the most likely place of collision.
