OREANDA-NEWS The Polish military took off aircraft allegedly because of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine, according to the operational command of the Polish armed forces.
"In connection with the strikes carried out by the Russian Federation using air attack weapons against targets in the central part of Ukraine, the Polish air force is acting preemptively in Polish airspace," the statement said.
It is noted that these actions are preventive in nature and are aimed at "ensuring and protecting Polish airspace, especially in the eastern part of the country."
The NaTemat information portal previously reported that regular fighter flights, allegedly due to the activity of Russian aviation in Ukraine, are very expensive for Polish taxpayers. According to official data from the Ministry of National Defense and the ministry's responses to various parliamentary inquiries received in recent years, the flight hour of a Polish F-16 fighter costs 76-77 thousand zlotys (about 21 thousand dollars).
