They started burning trash cans, knocking down fences and throwing stones at law enforcement officers. In response, the police used special equipment.

Major clashes between radicals and the police were noticed in the area of Leon Blum Square, the TASS news agency writes. The protesters are trying to build barricades and smash up shops. Law enforcement agencies began to detain violators of the order.

According to media reports, the May Day column in Paris may number 20,000 people. 1,500 police officers provide security at the event.
