OREANDA-NEWS The administration of US President Donald Trump has instructed the State Department and the Ministry of Finance to prepare a list of sanctions that can be eased during negotiations with Moscow, Reuters reported, citing sources.

The agencies are currently developing a proposal to lift restrictions on individual companies and individuals, including some Russian oligarchs," the article says.
As noted in the publication, Washington is considering the possibility of partially lifting sanctions restrictions as part of broader diplomatic efforts to improve relations with Russia and find ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant allowed the possibility of economic relief for Moscow, depending on the course of negotiations. President Trump also said on February 26 that sanctions could be eased at some point.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Moscow. As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted, the main goal of the United States and its allies is to worsen the lives of millions of people.

Nevertheless, Russia is coping with this pressure, and the West itself has repeatedly expressed the opinion that the restrictions imposed are ineffective. At the same time, the states that joined the restrictions do not have the courage to admit the failure of the anti-Russian sanctions policy.
