OREANDA-NEWS   Ruslan Tsalikov, the former first deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry, was detained in connection with the creation of a criminal community, bribery, embezzlement and laundering of criminal proceeds, Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR), said.

"A criminal case has been opened against Ruslan Tsalikov, the former first Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, on the creation of a criminal community by him, whose members committed embezzlement of budget funds in 2017-2024, as well as on the legalization of stolen goods and bribery," Petrenko told reporters on Thursday.

She noted that "the person involved in the criminal case has been detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being resolved."

"Tsalikov was charged under Part 3 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation of a criminal community by a person using his official position), 12 episodes of crimes under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement), Part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code (legalization (laundering) of funds or other property acquired by a person as a result of committing they committed crimes) and two episodes of crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe)," said the official representative of the TFR.

She did not specify the essence of the charges, noting that the materials collected jointly with the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia served as the basis for initiating a criminal case.
