OREANDA-NEWS In the first five months of 2026, Russia supplied 3.5 tons of frozen crabs to Mexico, which was the first step for domestic producers to enter a new direction. The federal center "Agroexport" announced this in its Telegram channel. The cost of the batch was about 200 thousand dollars. In addition to crabs, Russia has sold instant coffee worth $1.7 million, active yeast worth $530,000 and beer worth $10,000 to this Latin American country since the beginning of the year. At the end of May, the center indicated that Mexico had become one of the promising destinations for grain exports. The country is actively purchasing it abroad, but due to its geographical location in the market, competition with products from the USA and Canada is quite high for Russian suppliers. Earlier it was reported that from January to May, Russia exported crabs worth 930 million dollars, that is, almost 34 thousand tons of products, which is 11 percent more than a year earlier. China accounted for the majority of export revenue — 61 percent, followed by South Korea with 38 percent.
