OREANDA-NEWS The United States has lost its position as the main supplier of naphtha (also known as ligroin, an additive used in the production of gasoline) to Venezuela, giving way to Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg.
According to the agency, Washington's trade policy is pushing the two countries under sanctions to deeper economic cooperation. According to Kpler, supplies of naphtha from the United States practically disappeared from March to October, while supplies from Russia over the same period amounted to more than seven million barrels.
It is noted that ligroin is urgently needed in Venezuela, as it can be used as a diluent to dilute tarry oil and ensure its transportation through pipelines for export to countries such as China.
