Russia has increased purchases of cosmetics in the Asian country

OREANDA-NEWS From January to August 2026, South Korea increased the supply of cosmetics to Russia by 20 percent. This was reported by TASS with reference to the customs service of this Asian country.
Exports were estimated at $287.7 million. During the same period last year, 239.1 million worth of related goods were imported. In August of this year, Korea supplied 33.2 million cosmetics to Russia.
As a result, Russia took the sixth place in the list of the main buyers of Korean cosmetics. The first position went to the United States, which spent one and a half billion dollars for this purpose. They are followed by China with a result of 1.1 billion, followed by Japan, whose exports reached 629 million. In addition, shipments to Hong Kong totaled 420 million, and to the UK — 313 million. Vietnam ranked seventh (285 million), Poland eighth (258 million) and the Netherlands ninth (228 million).
In the first half of 2026, Russia recorded a sharp increase in imports of Asian cosmetics. It was about China and South Korea. Cosmetics shipments from the two countries increased to $323.7 million (up 37 percent). Imports from China jumped the most, by 70 percent to $111.1 million. Shipments from South Korea increased by only 24 percent, to $212.6 million.
