OREANDA-NEWS Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on February 12 on the background of the anniversary of the adoption of the Minsk agreements. Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, announced this in his Telegram channel.

The deputy Permanent Representative added that the diplomats will discuss specific actions of the Security Council, which caused the failure of one of the main tasks of the organization. It's about preventing crises and conflicts. According to the Russian mission to the United Nations, the event will be held in New York at 18:00 Moscow time.

Earlier, Russia requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council after the US attack on Iraq and Syria. The actions of American troops have created a threat to peace and security, Polyansky said.
