OREANDA-NEWS The Russian government has restricted the import of signal reception and transmission facilities from foreign satellites, including Starlink. The relevant resolution was published on the official website of the legal acts.
"It is prohibited to import into the Russian Federation radio—electronic devices designed to transmit and (or) receive radio waves from space communications facilities (communications satellites, including dual-use) of foreign countries, according to the list according to the annex, which do not have a decision of the state Commission on radio frequencies on the allocation of radio frequency bands," the document says.
The reason for this ban is the protection of national security. This measure will be in effect for six months.
Earlier, the chief of intelligence of the artillery division with the call sign Sokol said that communication remains the main problem of the Russian army, since the Russian analogues of the Starlink satellite system do not yet meet the needs of soldiers on the front line.
