OREANDA-NEWS  The property of the former shareholder and beneficiary of the agricultural and food company, as well as his associates, was seized at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office in favor of the state. The total value of assets exceeds 550 billion rubles, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

The businessman's name is not mentioned in the press release, but a RIA Novosti source confirmed that it was Vadim Moshkovich and Rusagro. He is accused of fraud with damages of more than 86 billion rubles and bribing the former governor of the Tambov region. The billionaire has been in jail for more than a year.

The total amount of seizures exceeds all previous episodes, including the nationalization of Domodedovo Airport, the Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies (YUGK) and the Macfa pasta holding.

"During the investigation, the main person involved put forward various versions according to which he was not involved in the crimes committed. However, the staff of the Investigative Department of the Russian Interior Ministry managed to collect the necessary amount of evidence and complete the preliminary investigation," the ministry said.

The criminal case was sent to the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits.

Earlier it was reported that for the third time, the Federal Property Management Agency was unable to sell YUGK for 162 billion rubles, because there were no people willing to purchase the asset and who had the opportunity to do so. As noted by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the government wants to spend the proceeds from the sale of YUGK on solving the priority tasks set by President Vladimir Putin.
