OREANDA-NEWS Shipments of tobacco and tobacco products from the EU to Russia increased by 10% in July this year and reached 34.6 million euros, the highest since December, according to Eurostat data analyzed by RIA Novosti.

At the same time, the export of tobacco products by the European Union to Russia decreased by 14% in annual terms. And total shipments in January-July decreased by 25% to 171.2 million euros.

The EU increased exports of cigars the most in July, by 2.7 times, to 222,000 euros, and of reconstituted tobacco by 2.4 times, to 8.2 million euros.

At the same time, the supply of various products with nicotine content decreased by 2.1 times (to 1.9 million euros), cigarettes - by 6% (to 12.1 million), smoking tobacco - by 25% (to 735 thousand) and chewing tobacco - by 13% (to 42 thousand).

The main suppliers of tobacco and tobacco to Russia among the countries of the EU in July were Germany (€11.4 million), Belgium (9.3 million), France (8.6 million), Bulgaria (1.5 million), and Sweden and Greece (for 1.4 million).
