Russia's decision to withdraw from the Council of Europe was the right one, Polyansky said

OREANDA-NEWS The activities of the Council of Europe after Russia's withdrawal from the organization in 2022 confirmed the correctness of Moscow's decision to leave this structure, Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Dmitry Polyansky said.
"Since Russia decided to withdraw from the organization in March 2022, Strasbourg has not given us a single reason to doubt the absolute correctness of this step," he said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on Thursday. The speech of the Russian diplomat is available to RIA Novosti.
Many OSCE countries share Russia's assessments on the sidelines, Polyansky said.
"All the current activities of this structure only confirm: We were dealing not with an international institution that had gone astray, but with a systemic agent of geopolitical pressure," Polyansky added.
