Russia's independence from foreign oil and gas equipment has grown to 80%

OREANDA-NEWS The level of independence of Russian companies from imported oil and gas equipment has increased to 80%, a significant number of components are produced in the Russian Federation, said Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, at the session "International Technological cooperation: opportunities, barriers and measures to support the exporter" at the TNF 2026 industrial and energy forum in Tyumen.
"We have already mastered a large number of positions, and the level of independence for oil and gas equipment from imported supplies has increased to 80%. We are working on technological cooperation maps and heat maps, which include 220 critical positions that need to be mastered in order to reach the 90% level of technological sovereignty planned in the national project," Alikhanov said.
According to him, about 55 types of equipment from this list are being mass-produced in Russia, 56 are being tested for prototypes, and research and development work is continuing on 83 types.
Alexander Moore, Governor of the Tyumen Region, noted that the region he heads has oilfield service competencies, scientific and educational centers, and a modern industrial base, which allows local companies to create products and technologies that are competitive on the global market.
He noted that the region organizes business missions and participates in exhibitions to develop international cooperation, and actively uses the tools of the "International Cooperation and Export" national project.
"In the first half of 2026 alone, the foreign trade turnover of the Tyumen Region increased by almost 14%. The top ten permanent partners include China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. There is interest from foreign partners, and it is growing," Moore said.
Denis Moroz, Minister of Energy of Belarus, said that the Tyumen Region is a long-standing and significant partner for the republic, while the potential for cooperation is much broader than the existing trade and economic ties.
"We are interested in developing cooperation in the energy and petrochemical industries, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation, and the implementation of joint technological projects. It is important that the accumulated experience and competencies of our enterprises are transformed into specific solutions that are in demand not only in Belarus and Russia, but also in the markets of third countries," Moroz believes.
The session "International Technological cooperation: opportunities, barriers and measures to support the exporter" was devoted to a systematic analysis of the prospects for Russian exports: from finding new niches in the markets of the global South and Asia to protecting transactions through government incentive mechanisms.
