OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian economy will face a serious shortage of IT specialists in the future. This was stated by Sergey Plugotarenko, Director General of ANO Digital Economy, as part of the Russian Internet Forum.

Taking into account current trends, the expert estimated this deficit at one million IT specialists.

Earlier, Stanislav Bliznyuk, Chairman of the Management Board of Tinkoff Bank, warned about this personnel problem. According to him, an information technology specialist who enters the market receives five to seven offers in three days. As a result, many companies have no choice but to raise salaries. This is a serious challenge for a large number of employers. In parallel, there is a deterioration in the quality of personnel. IT specialists are aware of the degree of their demand and do not consider it necessary to improve their skills.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia, only half of the students enrolled in information technology-related specialties study before graduation.

At the same time, the number of vacancies in the IT industry has increased dramatically. The number of relevant ads increased by 19 percent over the year.
