OREANDA-NEWS  Russia will appeal to the International Court of Justice of the United Nations (UN) because of the infringement of the rights of Russians in the Baltic States. This statement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to the Izvestia newspaper.

"We have repeatedly called on Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to take international responsibility in connection with these ongoing violations," the article says.

The Foreign Ministry noted that all attempts to resolve the conflict peacefully were unsuccessful, which is why it was decided to appeal to the International Court of Justice.

The rights of the Russian-speaking population are systematically violated by the Baltic countries. In February, Russia sent an appeal to the High Commissioner for National Minorities of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the organization in connection with discrimination against Russian-speaking residents of Latvia.
