OREANDA-NEWS  Alpine skier Varvava Voronchikhina won gold in the supergiant at the 2026 Paralympics in Italy. 

The athlete showed a result of 1 minute 15.60 seconds. Voronchikhina performs in the LW 6/8-2 class (injury to a part of the arm).

The Russian national team won the first gold medal at the Paralympics. Prior to that, Russian athletes had won two bronze medals.

The 2026 Winter Paralympics are taking place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from March 6 to March 15. Six Russian athletes are taking part in it, all of them competing with the flag and the national anthem of the country.
