OREANDA-NEWS The business mood of Russian companies deteriorated again in June. Kommersant writes about this with reference to the result of the monthly survey of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

The composite business environment index dropped by 1.3 points to 43.8 points compared to May. It is believed that pessimism prevails in the mood if the indicator is less than 50 points.

The result reflects, first of all, the subjective perception of the situation in the national economy by entrepreneurs. The share of negative responses about her condition increased from 26.7 percent to 35 percent over the month, while the share of opposing assessments fell from 39 percent to 33.8 percent.

As the newspaper notes, the current trend looks logical against the background of an increased tax burden, falling investment and industrial output, as well as a slower reduction in the Central Bank's key rate.

According to the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, in June, the financial situation improved for only six percent of companies, while it worsened for 24 percent. In addition, entrepreneurs complain about the increasing difficulties when trying to obtain a loan.

Meanwhile, S&P Global reports that the business activity index (PMI) of Russian manufacturing industries rose from 48.8 points to 50.3 points in June, which marks the first positive zone in more than a year (a value above 50 means an increase in business activity, and below that, a weakening).

Analysts point out that the growth is due to the fastest rate of increase in production since January 2025 and the stabilization of the influx of new orders.
