OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Hornet and Dragonfly quadrocopters, which are used during a special military operation, were shown abroad for the first time at the World Defense Show (WDS) 2024 in Saudi Arabia. A representative of the developer company "Academy of BAS" told TASS about this.

It is noted that during its operation, these drones are used to drop various types of projectiles, as well as remote mining of trails and routes of manpower and armored vehicles. "It is very important that the platforms are adapted to the use of a wide range of ammunition. About ten types of ammunition have already been worked out — each has its own module, a discharge system. We spent a lot of time adapting the payload to make it convenient for the military," the organization said.

The agency interlocutor added that the drones are adapted to the use of 82 mm caliber mines, grenade launchers, mines for remote mining and RCG-3 shaped grenades.

In January, it became known that the Russian fighters in the area of their own defense received a batch of Hortensia 7 FPV drones, which can be used for reconnaissance, remote mining and precision bombing.
