Russians have fallen in love with cheap TVs

OREANDA-NEWS In the first half of 2026, the Russian TV market grew by 10 percent in physical terms, to 3.48 million units, and in monetary terms — by only 2.3 percent, to 97.6 billion rubles. About this with reference to the data of "M.Video" writes Kommersant.
The main reason for this trend is the growing popularity of budget segment TVs. Devices costing 10-20 thousand rubles account for 34.8 percent of sales, and the 20-30 thousand rubles segment accounts for another 21.8 percent.
According to the OFD Platform (fiscal data operator), the median receipt for televisions fell by six percent over the year, while the number of purchases increased by nine percent.
The market leaders in money were China's TCL (15.4 percent) and Hisense (12.5 percent), South Korea's Samsung (10.7 percent), as well as China's Haier and Xiaomi again — 10.1 and 9.6 percent. Xiaomi (8.7 percent), Haier (8.6 percent) and TCL (8.6 percent) are the best sellers in units.
Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infonline Analytics, explained the growing demand for televisions by updating technology and requesting smart functions that are becoming more popular. However, other experts believe that it is not worth waiting for further growth in demand, because blocking content makes devices less attractive.
