OREANDA-NEWS In September 2023, Russians rushed to buy housing in Turkey — in terms of the number of real estate transactions, buyers from Russia overtook all foreigners. Such data is provided by the Turkish Institute of Statistics (Turkstat), RIA Novosti writes.

The organization noted that in just the first month of autumn, non-residents concluded 2,900 transactions in the Eurasian country. The share of buyers from Russia turned out to be the largest — 30 percent. The top five also included residents of Iran (11 percent of all transactions), Iraq (6.5 percent), Ukraine (4 percent) and China (2.4 percent).

Antalya turned out to be the most popular city among foreign home buyers — more than 1,000 houses were sold there. Among the cities of interest to non-residents, Turkstat also named Istanbul (978 transactions) and Mersin (211 transactions).
