OREANDA-NEWS Expired medicines, batteries, and mercury lamps should not be thrown into a regular dumpster. Lawyer Alla Georgieva warned Russians about the fine for such a violation in an interview with the Moscow 24 news agency.
According to the expert, waste that can damage it should also not be placed in the tank. This includes construction debris or objects that are too large. A complete list of what cannot be disposed of in the usual way can be found in the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 293 "On the procedure for handling municipal solid waste".
Violators face fines for non-compliance with environmental protection requirements when handling industrial and consumer waste. The amount will be 2-3 thousand rubles for citizens, 10-30 thousand rubles for officials and 100-250 thousand rubles for legal entities.
Georgieva warned that if an already fined person violates the same law again within a year, the amount of the penalty will increase to 3-5 thousand, 30-40 thousand and 250-400 thousand rubles, respectively. If the waste dumped in the wrong place has caused damage, it will also have to be reimbursed.
Earlier, Russians were reminded of the punishment for throwing garbage out of the window. In some situations, you can get up to three years in prison.
