OREANDA-NEWS Serial production of Citroen C5 Aircross cars has begun in Kaluga, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

"The start of sales is scheduled for mid—May," said Pavel Bezruchenko, director of Strategic Development at Automotive Technologies, which organized the production.

Cars are assembled at the leased site of the PSMA Rus plant with the support of the eastern partner. The Director of Strategic Development clarified that hundreds of millions of rubles had been invested in the modernization of production lines.

The top manager did not disclose the planned production volume, but clarified that the capacity of the enterprise as a whole is 108 thousand cars per year. The company's dealer network includes more than 40 car dealerships.

The Citroen C5 Aircross is equipped with a 175 horsepower engine and an automatic transmission. The cars are assembled in one configuration — Feel, which includes six airbags, a driver fatigue warning system, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry.

The cost of the novelty is 4.3 million rubles.
