OREANDA-NEWS CAR-T cell therapy and a number of other cancer-fighting therapies will be covered by state compulsory medical insurance guarantees in the near future, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a visit to the National Research Medical Center of Hematology.

"All this (CAR-T-cell therapy, the peptide method, RNA and other methods of fighting cancer - ed.) in the near future will be covered by state guarantees in compulsory medical insurance, which is very important," the Prime Minister said.

"CAR-T methods will also be included in state guarantees, and compulsory medical insurance will be available for free," Mishustin explained.

"When they said that everything was going well with CAR-T (cell therapy - ed.), it was only some time ago, 65 infusions already, and of course, the fact that today CAR-T-cell products, including those with individual biomedical cell products, have been actively used - This is a very big step for both our science and medicine," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
Mishustin expressed confidence that the 65 infusions performed are just the beginning and people with similar diseases will receive appropriate treatment.
