OREANDA-NEWS  Since August 5, restrictions have been imposed on the transit of poultry meat and offal produced by enterprises of the European Union through Russia. The relevant information is posted on the Rosselkhoznadzor website.

Justifying this decision, the agency referred to the desire to prevent the spread of epizootics and protect consumers. In addition, the Rosselkhoznadzor drew attention to cases when attempts were made to illegally transport poultry offal of alleged German origin through the Russian Federation. This cargo crossed the border of the Customs Union in a vehicle with Polish license plates and was in transit through Russia to Uzbekistan on falsified veterinary certificates.

The established restrictions will remain in effect until negotiations are held with the European Commission based on the results of the submitted investigation materials on the identified violations.

Earlier it was reported that since August 3, the Rosselkhoznadzor has banned the import of live poultry, hatching eggs, poultry meat, finished meat products from poultry and all types of poultry products containing poultry processing products.
