OREANDA-NEWS  Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that Israeli artist Yuval Rafael should not have participated in the international Eurovision Song Contest this year. His words are reported by the TASS news agency.

According to the chairman of the Spanish government, the organizers of the Euro allowed double standards by excluding Russia from participating in the competition after the start of a special military operation, but allowing a participant from Israel to speak.

"Russia has been asked to withdraw from participation. So Israel shouldn't do it either. We cannot allow double standards, even in the field of culture," the politician said.

The final of the vocal competition took place on May 17 in Basel, Switzerland. The winner was an artist from Austria, Johannes Pitch, who performs under the pseudonym JJ. Israeli Raphael is in second place. Russian-speaking Estonian Tommy Cash rounded out the top three.

Earlier it was reported that during the performance of the singer from Israel, a Palestinian flag appeared in the hall, as well as whistles and disapproving shouts.
