OREANDA-NEWS The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have made threats and blackmail against the relatives of Igor Shchegolevaty, a prisoner of war from Russia. They threaten to conduct medical experiments on him if the family does not pay a ransom of one million rubles for him, his half-brother Alexander Serikov told RIA Novosti.
According to the agency's interlocutor, a woman who represented the Ukrainian side contacted the relatives of the Russian serviceman by phone. She stated that the man was being held in a field barrack, where "a lot of angry Ukrainians want to do all sorts of medical and human experiments on him."
The woman also stressed that the Ukrainian soldiers did not declare Dapper as a prisoner of war and are waiting for a ransom from the family. "He is not recognized as a prisoner of war, do you understand why the Ukrainian side does not confirm that they have him? Because they are not sure if they need him alive or not," she said.
Earlier it became known that the parents of the captive Russian appealed to the UN because of blackmail by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian side threatened to kill his son and extorted money for his release.
