OREANDA-NEWS  Russians who have moved to Armenia can receive additional benefits from the state — thus, local authorities want to detain working citizens from Russia in the country for a long time, said the head of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan. His words are quoted by Sputnik Armenia.

"You know about our attitude towards Russian citizens living and working in Armenia. We must do everything so that they stay in Armenia as long as possible," he said. The minister also noted that the department is already working to mitigate the consequences of a possible tax increase for Russians who have left, which was previously announced by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

Against the background of the arrival of Russians in the country, the indicator of economic activity in Armenia increased by 14 percent in January-October, Sputnik Armenia notes. At the same time, the growth in trade and services, compared with 2021, amounted to 15.5 and 27.9 percent, respectively.

On December 25, the Russian authorities proposed to cancel preferences for citizens who left the country, because "they betrayed their country, relatives and friends." Volodin explained that now those who have left continue not only to work in Russian companies remotely, but also to enjoy all the benefits that they are provided in accordance with the legislation of the country, and considered it unfair.
