The Bank of Russia lowered its key rate

OREANDA-NEWS The central bank lowered the key rate to 14.25% per annum.
"The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia has decided to reduce the rate by 25 basis points," the regulator said in a statement.
The key rate is the minimum interest rate at which the Central Bank issues loans to commercial banks and accepts funds from them for deposits. Its increase helps to reduce inflation: loans become more expensive, so it becomes more profitable to open deposits and save. The demand for goods and services is decreasing, and prices are rising more slowly. In the opposite case, loans become cheaper, which stimulates consumption and investment.
