OREANDA-NEWS  The publication of the new US National Security Strategy is a declaration of political war on the European Union (EU). This statement was made by former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in his account on the social network X.

"[U.S. Vice President J.D.] Vance has already expressed his clear contempt for Europe in Munich, which [U.S. President Donald] Trump has made it a National Security strategy. This is a declaration of political war by the EU. He wants to see a white Europe, which is divided into separate countries, obeys his demands and votes for those politicians for whom he wants," the politician was indignant.

According to Borrell, European leaders should "stop pretending that Trump is not their opponent," hiding behind "fearful and complacent silence." Therefore, he called for resolutely defending the sovereignty of the European Union in various spheres.

Earlier, former Vice-President of the European Commission (EC) Vera Jourova accused the United States of ignorance after the publication of a new National Security Strategy that criticizes Europe and its policies.

On December 5, the White House published a new National Security Strategy, which harshly criticizes the domestic policies of European countries. The document expresses doubt that due to the influx of migrants, Europe will retain its historical and cultural image, including its orientation towards Washington.
