The EU has imposed sanctions against the head of Tatarstan

OREANDA-NEWS The Council of the European Union (EU) has imposed sanctions against the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. This became known from an official statement published on the agency's website.
"The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, is on today's sanctions list for facilitating the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to camps located in his region," the publication says.
The EU Council has imposed an entry ban and asset freeze on 10 individuals and 17 organizations. The Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as the heads of children's camps and schools, were included in the sanctions lists for allegedly "participating in ideological indoctrination."
Earlier it became known that EU countries are increasingly using anti-Russian sanctions as a "bargaining chip" to get concessions from Brussels on issues unrelated to restrictions. In addition, one of the EU ambassadors suggested reducing the volume of subsequent sanctions packages against Russia, arguing that this would facilitate negotiations.
