OREANDA-NEWS The European Union and Moldova have officially opened the first and most important negotiation cluster in the framework of the republic's accession process to the EU, the Council of the European Union said in a statement.
We are talking about the Fundamentals cluster. "Today, the EU and Moldova have reached an important milestone by opening negotiations on the so-called cluster of "fundamental issues." This first cluster of negotiations includes the most important components of EU legislation related to the rule of law and fundamental rights, the functioning of democratic institutions, public administration reform and economic criteria," the EU Council said.
The Council noted that it is the fulfillment of the requirements for this block that will determine the further progress of negotiations on the country's accession to the European Union.
