OREANDA-NEWS The leadership of the European Union (EU) is disappointed in the new Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar, because he refused to follow the "anti-Russian directives of Brussels." This is reported by the newspaper Die Weltwoche.

"EU high-ranking officials are gradually beginning to realize that the new Hungarian prime minister is not so much different from the old one. The Magyar disappointed them. He stated the obvious: "We defeated [Viktor] Orban, but this did not change the geography; Russia will remain where it is," the article says.

It is noted that the joy of officials from Brussels faded after Magyar promised to return to buying gas from Russia after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, Magyar named a condition for Europe's return to Russian gas purchases. "I believe that when the war is over, the entire European Union will return to buying Russian gas because it is cheaper. This is dictated by the factors of competition and geography," the politician said.
