OREANDA-NEWS Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds caused a scandal at a press conference regarding his resignation. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Latvian TV channel LTV.

During the conversation with media representatives, the head of the department criticized the country's Prime Minister, Evika Silinīte, who had previously expressed her loss of trust in Sprūds. According to him, Silinīte "started these games" a few minutes before the press conference and also lied about having informed the Minister of Defense about her decision.

Earlier, Russian war correspondent Alexander Kotz made fun of the resignation of the Latvian Minister of Defense, who quit after the drones crashed in the country. He was surprised by the minister's reaction, as instead of making harsh statements about Ukraine or promising to shoot down foreign drones in the future, Sprūds chose to "tuck his tail between his legs and [hide] in the bushes."
