OREANDA-NEWS  The French engineering company GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) suspends work in Russia. Her message says that the decision was made "after a thorough analysis" of the eighth and ninth packages of EU sanctions imposed due to the military operation in Ukraine.

From January 8, GTT will suspend the contract with the Russian shipping company Zvezda for the construction of 15 icebreaker-class gas carriers. The participation of the French company will be limited to the completion of the projects of two vessels.

The company announced that it will no longer include projects in Russia in its project of orders.

GTT specializes in the development and licensing of the construction of cryogenic membrane systems for the transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

In September 2019, GTT signed a contract with Saren B.V. (a joint venture of oilfield services Saipem and Turkish Renaissance Heavy Industries) for the design and construction of three OGTS (platforms on which modules with gas liquefaction equipment will be placed) for the Arctic LNG-2 project.

In July 2022, Kommersant reported that NOVATEK intends to change contractors for the implementation of platforms for Arctic LNG - 2 due to the fact that the European companies Technip and Saipem suspended work due to the risks of sanctions. After that, GTT received a notification from the contractor about the company's intention to terminate the contract.
