OREANDA-NEWS  The situation on the Russian-Finnish border has worsened due to unilateral decisions by Helsinki. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the head of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, Army General Vladimir Kuleshov.

According to him, until recently there were good-neighborly relations between the two countries, but Finland unilaterally closed border checkpoints at the end of 2023 and stopped passenger traffic with Russia. These decisions have led to an aggravation of the situation. Currently, the FSB General noted, international cooperation between the border services of Russia and Finland is at a minimum level.

Earlier on May 28, Kuleshov reported that Russian border guards shot down more than 1.3 thousand Ukrainian drones in 2023.
