OREANDA-NEWS Peter Magyar, the head of the opposition Tisa party, which is leading in the Hungarian elections, acknowledged the need to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated this in an interview with the newspaper Népszava.

The politician stressed that Hungary would in any case have a dialogue with Putin, regardless of who heads the government.

"We will have to sit down at the negotiating table with the Russian president. The geographical location of neither Russia nor Hungary will change. Our energy dependence will also remain," Magyar said.

Earlier it became known that the Tisa party is confidently leading in the elections to the Parliament of the republic after counting 91.90 percent of the votes. A number of politicians have already congratulated Magyar on his election victory, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French leader Emmanuel Macron.
