OREANDA-NEWS A Russian company polluted the soil near Ulyanovsk with hazardous waste and caused millions of dollars of damage to nature. This was reported by the press service of the SU IC of Russia for the region on the VKontakte social network.

The incident was recorded in the Kutuzovsky district. The investigation believes that officials of one of the commercial organizations systematically disposed of hazard class I-IV waste on a land plot near the village of Volyn region from 2014 to 2025. As a result, the soil was contaminated with heavy metal salts in concentrations exceeding the norm.

Previously, the amount of damage caused is at least 350 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened into the incident, and investigators are establishing all the circumstances.

Earlier, residents of the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region had to wear gas masks due to the caustic emissions from the local waste recycling complex.
