OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of 2023, the gap between average pensions in the regions of Russia has increased dramatically. This is reported by the Izvestia newspaper with reference to the statistics of the Social Fund.

At the moment, the maximum regional pension in Russia exceeds the minimum by almost 2.5 times. The lowest pension amount is in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (17 thousand rubles), and the highest is in Chukotka (40 thousand rubles). In the third quarter, the gap between the regions increased by 1.3 thousand. The average amount of pensions in Russia amounted to 21.8 thousand rubles.

In addition to Chukotka, the top 5 regions with the highest pensions include the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (34.8 thousand rubles), Magadan Region (34 thousand rubles), Kamchatka Krai (33.6 thousand rubles) and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (32.7 thousand rubles). Among the subjects with the lowest amount of payments are Dagestan (17.3 thousand rubles), the Karachay—Cherkess Republic (18.6 thousand rubles), Kalmykia (18.6 thousand rubles) and Crimea (18.7 thousand rubles).
