OREANDA-NEWS It is inappropriate for Russia to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), according to Mikhail Murashko, head of the Russian Ministry of Health. His words from the interview are quoted by RIA Novosti

"We need to participate, we need to convey our position and be in cooperation with those countries that support our direction accordingly. There should be an exchange of data and information," the minister said.

The need for cooperation, in particular, has been demonstrated by the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, as Murashko stressed, it is important to defend your own opinion.

Earlier, in July 2023, State Duma deputy Pyotr Tolstoy called on Russia to withdraw from the WHO. The parliamentarian noted that the organization supported sanctions against Russia, including the closure of the office for the prevention of noncommunicable diseases in Moscow.
