OREANDA-NEWS The Ukrainian authorities are engaged in energy blackmail against Hungary, cutting off Russian oil supplies on their territory. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, reports TASS.
"We see that, of course, certain energy blackmail from Ukraine against a member of the European Union (EU) Hungary is taking place," the Kremlin spokesman said.
At the same time, Peskov added that issues related to oil supplies to Hungary are being discussed at the corporate level through relevant companies.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Ukraine of trying to put pressure on Hungary by refusing to restart Russian oil supplies through the Druzhba oil pipeline. According to him, Kiev is thus blackmailing Orban, who opposes Ukraine's membership in the European Union.
On February 15, the authorities of Hungary and Slovakia asked Croatia to allow the transit of Russian oil shipped by sea.
