OREANDA-NEWS  Moscow is in contact with Budapest and Belgrade on the issue of Russian energy supplies to Hungary and Serbia, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"You know that we are in contact with Serbia, we are in contact with Hungary," Peskov told reporters, answering a question about the possibility of Russia's transition from the European oil and gas market to alternative ones.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he would instruct the government, together with Russian companies, to work out the issue of natural gas supplies from Russia to promising markets. The Head of State noted that it might be more profitable for Russia to stop supplies to the European market now, before EU restrictions take effect, and to enter new markets and gain a foothold there.
