OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump continues to make efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and his emotional attitude to this problem is understandable, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on Trump's words that Vladimir Putin had "let him down" on the Ukrainian issue.

Peskov was asked how Putin reacts to such statements.

"We proceed from the fact that the United States and President Trump personally maintain their political will and intention to continue efforts to contribute to the Ukrainian settlement. Therefore, of course, President Trump is quite emotional, let's say, about this topic. This is absolutely understandable," he replied.

According to him, "President Putin also remains ready for a settlement and the desire to resolve (the problem) by political and diplomatic means." "And he's doing a lot for this," Peskov said.

"On the other hand, there is the Kiev regime, there are European countries that are doing everything possible to continue down the path of confrontation and escalating tensions," he continued. "And this is not something that does not contribute to a peaceful course, on the contrary, it creates obstacles."
