OREANDA-NEWS  The French Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the Dacian Spring 2025 exercises, which were originally scheduled for May, have been rescheduled for the fall due to the upcoming presidential elections in Romania.

The exercises, which were to involve more than 5,000 soldiers from various nations, were crucial for France, which leads a multinational battalion in Romania. These exercises were designed to assess France's ability to deploy an operational brigade of 3,000 to 5,000 soldiers within just ten days on NATO's eastern flank.

During the exercises, a wide range of military equipment was to be tested, including light aircraft, Leclerc tanks, Caesar howitzers, and hundreds of infantry vehicles.

The goal of the exercises was also to assess and enhance the logistical capacity and military mobility of the French military. This is the first time the French military has tested the capabilities of operational deployment at the brigade level, according to the source.

Earlier, it was announced that in the spring of 2025, the French military will conduct a large-scale exercise called "Dacian Spring." This exercise will involve the deployment of 5,000 soldiers and will test the ability of the command center to connect to all classified military communication channels in France and NATO.
