He called Zorin a "powerful negotiator" who managed to reconcile the warring parties in Syria and unravel the most complex tangles of contradictions between the factions. In addition, after the start of the special military operation, the Lieutenant General was one of those who forced the surrender of the two thousandth Azovstal garrison. "Such a delegation is not sent to leave the room," Kots concluded.

The siege of Azovstal in Mariupol was carried out in the spring of 2022. The Russian units did not storm the plant, but forced the enemy to surrender.

On the evening of May 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin formed the Russian delegation for talks with Ukraine. Vladimir Medinsky, Mikhail Galuzin, Alexander Fomin and Igor Kostyukov will travel to Turkey from Moscow. They will be assisted by experts Alexander Zorin, Elena Podobreevskaya, Alexey Polishchuk and Viktor Shevtsov.
